Dan was a researcher and a machine learning engineer, but after the full-scale invasion, he became a soldier.
He is a university classmate of Iryna, our Operations lead, through whom he befriended Dimko. He has traveled extensively in the past, hitchhiking from Ukraine to all over the Middle East.
As the war escalated, he joined the 47th Brigade and was initially assigned to a mortar battery as a gunner. He is now commander of the intel and recon section and leads the air recon unit.
Loves singing, whistling, and jamming. Loves tackling math problems and immensely enjoys doing ML research. Member of Ukrainian scout orgranisation “Plast.”
After the war, he wishes to return to ML and apply his background to research in the defense sector, aiming to prevent future threats to Ukraine. But he also, once again, wants to sing, whistle, and jam.
At Dzyga’s Paw, we supply Dan’s unit with the necessary equipment to protect Ukrainian land, people, and culture. For his unit to be productive, it must have good communication and proper technical equipment.
During one of our visits to the frontlines, we filmed an interview to explore Dan’s motivations for staying and fighting for Ukraine, his experiences serving with the 47th Mechanized in Magura, and the vital role of technological aid, including drones and Starlink in modern warfare. Watch it on our YouTube channel.
Similar to securing safe movement, ADS are crucial to evacuating wounded soldiers. They prevent enemy detection and attacks, ensuring that evacuation teams can carry out their missions without additional threats.
Engineering units responsible for laying mines in gray zones and building defensive lines, bridges, and crossings during the advancement of assault units rely on ADS to ensure their safety. These systems help maintain secure logistical connections with the rear, ensuring the continuity of operations.
Soldiers, in particular, FPV drone operators can work closer to enemy lines with relative safety by using ADS. These systems protect against enemy detection and attacks, enhancing both safety and operational effectiveness.
Moving to and from combat positions is one of the most dangerous moments for troops, especially for FPV drone teams. ADS blocks enemy signals, ensuring safer movement and preventing enemy drones from targeting and destroying the crew.
